Building Sky-High Relationships: Harvard Alumni Association’s Global Networking Night

--

High above the cosmopolitan streets of Bonifacio Global City, on the roof deck of Seda Hotel, is an internationally recognized bar known as Straight Up. Offering a stunning panoramic view of sky-high buildings, verdant parks, and posh boutiques and restaurants of Bonifacio High Street, Straight Up Roof Deck Bar was the venue for Harvard Alumni Association’s (HAA) Global Networking Night last January 9, 2018.

Amidst the bright lights and cool outdoor breeze, the private room of floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a polymer wall accent was filled with conversations of Harvard alumni.

As glasses of wine and bottles of beer were served, the short program began at 7:00 PM — starting with welcome remarks from Edsel Tupaz (Harvard Law School) and Carol Dominguez (Harvard Business School; HAA director for Asia). Shortly after, the executive director of Harvard Kennedy School Club, Jose Jimenez, took the reigns by presenting countless events Harvard Clubs had organized in 2017.

With alumni from all cities — both here and abroad — either making new connections or reconnecting with former colleagues, there was never a dull moment at the GNN. As the night came to an end, one can definitely say that, though glasses were left empty, new relationships were formed.
